My Top 10 Questions - Round 1!

A great way to get to know someone is through a rapid-fire round of questions. I love asking people who I respect and admire some of their favorite items, advice on how they handle life, and learn their best practices! Here's the list and my answers to my top 10 questions:

1. What is your “can’t live without” beauty item?

I can't live without eye cream. No matter how much water I drink and how healthy I eat I find that I have dry skin under my eyes and when they are dry I feel very self-concious.

2. What will you NOT leave the house without?

Definitely mascara and a spray of perfume.

3. What is your quick stress relief technique?

I do love to meditate but a quick workout also does the trick.

4. What app can you NOT live without?

Not sure this actually counts as an app but I can not live without my Google calendar. Being a single mom juggling 3 kids very busy schedules makes it almost impossible to remember everything, so my calendar is my "assistant" reminding where I need to be.

5. What is your secret to juggling work and family?

I think it's very important to first make sure you make time for yourself. When I do that then I have more energy and patience to juggle whatever my kids throw my way. Mommy "play dates" are VERY important!!

6. What is your “go to” weekend getaway and why?

If I have a long weekend, I'm always on a plane to LA for some girl time with my besties. I also love the long flight. It's the only time I watch movies and it's also a great time to catch up on emails.

7. What is your “go to” dinner that you’ve mastered?

My go to dinner is definitely shrimp scampi. It's easy and my kids love it too!

8. What is your most recent splurge?

After my divorce was final I bought the kids a piano. It has been the best thing I've ever done. The kids are loving taking lessons and I absolutely love hearing them all practice throughout the week.

9. What are your tips for decorating and dressing on a budget?

I love places like Home Goods for designing on a budget and I'm never afraid to mix a blouse from Target and a cute pair of jeans. It's all about mixing and matching!

10. What is your secret to not losing yourself in “mommyhood?

This one was a hard one for me! When my daughter was 2, I started a nonprofit that empowers teens that are battling severe illness or injury. This allowed me to be me and most importantly have me time.

What are your favorite beauty items? Your most recent splurge? Tell us in the comments, and we will have a Best of Top 10 post in the months to come!
