About

Anything But Ordinary is the summation of a variety of projects spearheaded by creator and producer Michael McCleary.  Originally created and filmed to be a TV series with an eye toward PBS distribution, the production team spent 3 years filming interviews across the United States and Canada.  Mike's goal was to define the true meaning of success by interviewing ordinary, non-famous people who were living their dreams and passions.  Interviews were spread across a broad spectrum of individuals (from entrepreneurs, to musicians, doctors, actors, writers, executives and more) in a manner similar to a scientific research project, with a series of the same questions  asked to each individual.

Currently Anything But Ordinary will make its debut into the marketplace as a documentary film entitled, An Anything But Ordinary Journey.  The film follows Mike's quest to create a TV series from scratch with little to no TV production experience at the outset.  The viewer will watch as the film follows Mike asking guests his signature questions about Change, Perseverance and Faith followed by the primary question of the documentary, "What is Success?". An Anything But Ordinary Journey weaves a story shared by those Mike interviewed along with his own spending a number of years developing the project along with what he learned building his own company, Beacon Media, LLC.  With nothing but a dream and a desire to encourage viewers to begin asking real questions about the direction of their life, Mike put together a team and self-financed production on a spartan budget in locations as diverse as a funeral home in Ontario, Canada to a private jet in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The documentary film is directed and primarily edited by long-time friend and business partner Casey Turner.

At a future point in time all 20 episodes of the TV series will be edited for distribution on TV and/or DVD as well as on the internet.  Mike is also currently working on an accompanying book of his experience, Anything But Ordinary - Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives.
